I envision a world where all parents are nurtured,
supported, and valued.
supported, and valued.
Adriane Thomas (she/her) is a postpartum doula who supports families in the critical time after a birth. She was inspired to become a postpartum doula by her own experience postpartum and as a new parent. She brings empathy, non-judgemental support and humor to every situation. Adriane loves the one-on-one connections she makes with families and understands the structural systems that make parenting so hard. She strives to connect people to resources that reflect the complex reality and needs of being a new parent. She centers the parent’s needs, encourages rest and aims to build confidence and reduce isolation. She believes rest, support and community are essential to the life-changing journey of becoming a parent.
Adriane understands the range of feelings and stressors that early parenthood brings and how needs may shift from day-to-day or hour-by-hour. Adriane works with parents to create a system that works for their needs in this nebulous period. Adriane works with all parents, including adoptive and second/third time parents.
Adriane is a native Philadelphian and recently moved back to the area after 11 years in Baltimore. She has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from University of Maryland Baltimore and 15 years experience as a social worker, community organizer, researcher and project manager for programs with individuals, families, schools and communities in Philadelphia and Baltimore.
